India Gate



India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India is located in the heart of the capital New Delhi. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens a well known British architecht.

“To the dead of the Indian armies who fell and are honoured in France and Flanders Mesopotamia and Persia East Africa Gallipoli and
Elsewhere in the near and the far east and in sacred memory also of those whose names are here recorded and who fell in India on the north west frontier and during the third Afghan war,” is inscribed on top of the memorial.

At least 90,000 Indian soldiers lost their lives fighting in wars. After Indian Independence India Gate became the site of the India Army’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Garbage dump in Delhi


Delhi struggles to dispose of the 6,000 tonnes of solid waste generated daily, despite 50,000 MCD sweepers and 700 garbage trucks to collect the garbage from 3,000 points across the city.

Delhi huge garbage dump located in East Delhi across Yamuna River. The capital’s municipal council plans to move garbage dumps underground as part of it agenda for a clean Delhi.
