Tens of thousands of Japan's farms grow wheat at small fields around the rice filed and Japanese annual wheat production exceeds about 800,000 tons. Ministry of Japanese Agriculture has pay subsidy for farmer, promote to wheat.

Japan is biggest wheat importer in Asia.
